Jordan’s most popular place to live, Amman, is a peaceful city with great weather, excellent amenities amid the ancient historic buildings and authentic culture. Most expats moving to Jordan choose Amman as it is the centre for business. According to Gulf News, the Old City is popular with foreigners and offers lower prices than the newer areas.
Neighbourhoods to consider include:
Jabal Amman (1st - 3rd circles)
This area has many boutiques, restaurants, galleries and cafes and is a pedestrian-friendly zone particularly around Rainbow Street.
Shmeisani
Many expats live in this more liberal-leaning residential neighbourhood, close to Qasid Arabic Institute and the University of Jordan.
Jabal Al Webdeih
Overlooking downtown, this neighbourhood houses many expats and has a dynamic contemporary arts scene.
Abdoun
Considered to be the most affluent area of Amman, Abdoun has many nightclubs and shopping malls, restaurants and cafes.
Swefeih
Home to the Albaraka Mall with quality shops and a Pedestrian zone with many exclusive shops and cafés, Swefeih is in the western area of Amman.
