Foreigners are allowed to stay for 90 days on a tourist visa. For longer stays, one must apply for residency visa (Carte Sejour), here.
To apply, these documents must be provided:
- Three certified copies of your employment contract
- Three certified copies of your passport
- Three copies (one certified) of a lease in the name of the expatriate
- Three photocopies (one certified) of a Lydec (water and electricity) contract or another authority in the name of the expatriate
- If accommodation is provided by the employer, they must provide a certificate to confirm payment of these costs
- Two forms of your application for registration (white form) available at the prefecture
- Three registration application forms (printed cardboard form) available at the prefecture
- 8 passport-sized pictures
- Special stamped receipt of US$6
The residence visa is valid for one year, renewable two months before expiry. After three years of residence, you will be eligible for a 10 year residence permit.
Work permits in Morocco
In Morocco, work permits are required.
Moroccan-based foreign companies organise work permits for their employees, and the employee needs to apply for a resident card.
If looking for a job in Morocco, register for a work permit, find a job and apply for a residence permit.
Once employed, have the employment contract validated by the Moroccan Ministry of Employment and the Department of Employment Service for migrants. They evaluate the work permit with the National Agency for Employment and Skills and give notification, whether positive or negative.
You will require the following documents:
- Passport
- Medical certificate of less than a month old
- Documents showing your professional skills
