The local topography is combined with sleek modern forms in this single-family villa in the Chouf mountains in Brih, Lebanon, designed by Accent Design Group.
The small village of Brih, with its stark topography, had witnessed destruction and desolation during the Lebanese war. To enhance this stark terrain, Accent Design Group S.A.L have created a single-family villa in the Chouf mountains in Lebanon, taking its inspiration from the landscape and the territory.
The U-shape configuration evolved to separate and connect public areas at the front, and family areas in a two-storey structure at the back. The shape surrounds an outdoor private piazza-style space with a pool, open to the landscape.
Following a meandering road at the bottom of a hill, you arrive at the villa by passing though terraced olive groves. The building combines natural stone with a contrasting white stucco accentuating its horizontal composition.
Its minimalistic design reflects the local topography, recreated in modern forms. The villa opens up to the landscape, with a sequence of passages and patios reminiscent of traditional architecture. The house design focuses on integration into the landscape, the context, and its history.
Accent Design Group S.A.L., established in 2007, is a specialized architecture design firm that serves the Middle East from headquarters in Beirut.
