Having attended the Chinese Luxury Property Show in Beijing, Dubai Land Department has launched the Real Estate Promotion Trustee office in China.
The Dubai Land Department has played an important role in strengthening the alliance between the United Arab Emirates and China over the past decades by working with its partners to further attract Chinese investors and to identify the investment opportunities available in Dubai and the UAE in general.
As per projections released by the DLD, Dubai's real estate market witnessed more than 30,000 transactions worth approximately AED56 billion from close to 23,000 global investors in 2017. Chinese investments currently rank sixth-highest for inbound property investment having been eighth-highest as recently as May last year. Recent policy changes such as granting Chinese nationals visa on arrival in Dubai, as well as the connectivity allowed by direct flights to 13 Chinese cities to Dubai, have increased the emirate’s attractiveness to Chinese investors.
Assistant Director and Head of the Real Estate Investment Management and Promotion Centre at DLD, Majida Ali Rashid said, "We recognise the importance of China as a trade and strategic partner for the United Arab Emirates, and we will be supportive of the Government's direction and its policy to strengthen the relations between the two friendly countries. This will be accomplished by opening the investment horizons in Dubai to Chinese companies and individuals looking to benefit from the opportunities offered by the UAE due to its strategic location and advanced infrastructure."
One of the latest initiatives has been Dubai’s contribution to the Chinese Luxury Property Show in Beijing. During the three-day event, DLD coordinated numerous exchanges with senior investors from companies and individuals. The department focused its attention on companies operating in real estate and hospitality sectors.
At the end of the show, DLD reached agreements with Chinese investors during the gathering, launching the Real Estate Promotion Trustee office in China. Ali Rashid concluded, "We are pleased to participate and represent the real estate sector in Dubai through the Real Estate Investment Management and Promotion Centre — our primary purpose for participating in the exhibition. In doing so, we hope to have painted a realistic picture of the beautiful Emirate that represents it as a welcoming environment for visitors and investors from all over the world."
These events come as part of DLD's contribution to support the UAE-China relationship, which was recently crowned by the announcement of the '2018 UAE-China Week'.
