Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has announced that UAE expats can now buy land at Dubai World Central.
The resolution grants expats the right to absolute ownership, with no time frame, of land and property in DWC plots 205, 206 and 207. It also gives owners the right to lease property on these plots for up to 99 years.
Dubai World Central is an economic zone to support logistics, aviation, commercial, exhibition, humanitarian, residential and other related businesses around Al Maktoum International Airport, which is expected to see 12 million tonnes of cargo and 160 million passengers annually.
The decision to allow expats to buy land was made to support Dubai Aviation City’s objectives to grow the aviation sector in Dubai, and to promote Dubai as a destination of choice for event organisers in aviation-related sectors.
