Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum sells Bellevue Hill home.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, ruler of Dubai and prime minister of the United Arab Emirates, is selling Montjola, the Sydney home he purchased for AUD$5.25 million in 2008.
The five-bedroom home, located in Bellevue Hill, was purchased by Sheikh Mohammed’s Darley company (now known as Godolphin) as a home for his Australian horse stud manager, Henry Plumptre and his wife Michelle.
Australian media report that it is now regarded as too big for the Plumptre’s needs.
Sheik Mohammed is one of wealthiest thoroughbred horse breeders and racers in the world.
Earlier, Sheikh Mohammed had purchased two thoroughbred breeding studs in Australia; Kelvinside Stud in 2002 and the Woodlands Stud in 2008.
The Sydney home comes with a separate studio, pool and pool house, media room and cellar.
It will go to auction on August 24 and has a price guide of AUD$6 million - being sold through James Keenan of Ray White Double Bay.
