Project Lebanon 2018 is the region’s leading international construction show
Project Lebanon 2018, the 23rd International Trade Exhibition for Construction Materials and Equipment for Lebanon and the Middle East, from 26-29 June 2018, will bring industry leaders from around the world together. It allows face-to-face networking opportunities and enables participants to establish new contacts, renew existing partnerships, and explore new business opportunities. In 2017, 313 exhibitors from over 22 countries showcased their latest products and services to 17,639 visitors.
According the Project Lebanon, Lebanon has a free-market economy and a liberal financial environment making it an attractive destination for developments and initiatives. Over the past 3 years, the country maintained steady growth averaging 7.5% annually, due to a resilient economy favouring foreign direct investments. The Lebanese economy is a typical open economy with a large banking sector equivalent to more than 2.5 times its economic sector and provides an important support to aggregate demand.
With a strong market potential and an increased demand for new infrastructure and tourism projects, the country is bursting with opportunities and developments. Lebanon's diversified geography and attractive investment environment has established the country as the region's ultimate hot spot for tourism, construction, and development with an impressive number of multi-million projects.
As the main Middle Eastern port on the Mediterranean, Lebanon is also the business gateway to neighbouring countries in the Levant to access the rest of the world and interact with professionals across different industries.
Due to its stability, geographic and cultural proximity, and its position as a trade hub, Lebanon occupies a distinctive place in the reconstruction of Syria. Against this backdrop, Project Lebanon 2017 hosted a specialized conference to discuss the impact of the Syrian crisis on Lebanon, and role in this context.
Moderated by former Minister of Economy and Trade in Lebanon, HE Mr. Nicolas Nahas, the conference welcomed UN-ESCWA representatives and 113 delegates and leading experts from Lebanon and Syria. The conference answered numerous questions including the main projects development planned for Lebanon in light of post-crisis Syria, and the challenges and opportunities in entering the Syrian market.
