Beirut Design Fair has announced the second edition of its Middle East and global design and interiors exhibition, to be held in September 2018.
Beirut Design Fair has announced its second edition, to take place in the Lebanese capital in September 2018.
The event builds on the success of its first edition in 2017 which featured the works of 47 exhibitors, galleries, design studios, and emerging designers, and witnessed almost 17,000 visitors. This year’s edition is expected to exceed 20,000 visitors, with 60 exhibitors and 150 designers having been chosen to participate, including exhibitions from European galleries.
The design and interior exhibition space of the fair have been commissioned to Lebanese architecture and interior design firm GM Architects. Founded and led by Galal Mahmoud, GM Architects specialise in luxury design and has worked with some of the biggest names in luxury hospitality; including Accor, Rotana, Starwood, Jumeirah and Rezidor.
Hala Moubarak, Co-founder and Creative & Design Director said, “Beirut Design Fair’s first edition, in 2017, was of a Lebanese character, but the strategic objective is to also exhibit works from galleries and designers from all over the world, with both local and international designs.”
“In addition to providing opportunities for young talents, Beirut Design Fair activates the relationship between design and manufacture, thus promoting a microeconomic ecosystem of its own with spillover into the country’s macroeconomy, let alone ramifying positively into the social sphere.”
Beirut Design Fair aims to bring together both emerging and established designers with industry leaders and the public, highlighting the creative power of the Lebanese capital. Creatives and designers from the region and around the globe will exhibit their own creations and designs.
The event will be held at the Seaside Arena (formerly BIEL) from 20th to 23rd September, with a VIP opening ceremony is set for September 19th.
Beirut Design Fair is in partnership with Beirut Art Fair (held in the same place over the same dates), which holds its ninth edition and awaits more than 30,000 visitors this year.
