The Emirates Green Building Council's 8th Annual Congress will focus on the circular economy within the built environment.
Registrations have opened to attend the Emirates Green Building Council Congress in May.
Held at the Pullman Dubai Creek City Centre Hotel, the 8th annual congress will focus on exploring how a circular economy approach within the building and construction sector can support the UAE to decarbonize and achieve the sustainable development goals of Vision 2021.
According to the council's website, this year's event will continue the discussion of last year's Congress on Net Zero Buildings and Cities by showcasing how a shift to a circular economy is integral to a net zero carbon future.
Other topics set to be discussed at the event include the various aspects of the green building lifecycle, energy & water management, sustainable building materials, embodied carbon and waste management.
Day two of teh Congress will also feature a screening of the documentary ‘Closing the Loop’.
Released on Earth Day last year, the award-winning film outlines five key strategies for achieving circularity – reduce, reuse, recycle, renew and reinvent – by detailing examples from Europe, Latin America and Africa.
To register for the Congress, visit the Emirates GBC website.
