A relaxation of sanctions against Iran is bringing "exceptional opportunities".
MEED’s Outlook Oman forum, organised with the support of and under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Ali Masoud Al Sunaidy, Oman’s Commerce & Industry Minister, is an opportunity to gain invaluable and exclusive insight into the strategies for Oman's economic reform.
Edmund O'Sullivan, Chairman of MEED Events, who are hosting the forum, says that Oman is pressing ahead with a "far-reaching programme designed to build on its many achievements and address the challenge of lower oil prices".
"This includes one of the world’s most ambitious tight gas development project, further expansion of industrial centres in Sohar, Duqm and Salalah, and actions to promote non-oil services including tourism," he continued.
"Exceptional opportunities are emerging for Oman following the relaxation of sanctions against Iran at the start of 2016."
Participants will hear the latest about Oman’s plans to work with oil market challenges, and the emerging opportunities in a new era for the Middle East and the world brought about by lower energy prices.
It will also be a prime opportunity to network effectively with peers, project owners, developers and finance institution.
Speakers will include Omani government ministers, senior government officials, leaders of the Omani business community and representatives of Oman’s many international partners and foreign investors.
The topics they will tackle include oil and gas, healthcare and education, transportation, power and water, and economic development zones with a focus on how Oman plans to finance the major projects it needs in these sectors.
The event is being held at the Al Bustan Palace Hotel in Muscat on October 24, 2016.
